This will be held at the University of

Economics and Finance in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on February 20-22, 2025.

Dangal ng Wika at Kultura at Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Wika at Kultura 2024     

Ayon sa Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, ang "Dangal ng Wika at Kultura at Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Wika at Kultura" ay mga parangal "para mga Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (SWK) na nakabase sa iba’t ibang publiko at pilíng pribadong pamantasan at kolehiyo sa Pilipinas. Ibinibigay ang pagkilalang ito sa kanilang mataas na antas ng kahusayan at episyenteng pagsasagawa ng mga proyekto, at gawaing pangwika at pagkultura túngo sa ibayong pag-unlad, at pagsulong ng wikang Filipino at ng ibang mga wika ng Pilipinas." 

 

Para sa taong 2024, iginawad po ng  Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino ang Dangal ng Wika at Kultura sa 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 at 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲. Nakamit naman po ng 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, at 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 ang 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚.

 Boracay Ati: Nanganganib ang Wika at Kultura 

Noong ika-16 hanggang 18 ng Agosto (Buwan ng Wika) ay nagtungo si Dr Fides del Castillo (NPRE President), G. Clarence Darro del Castillo, MBA (Lumina Foundation President), at Gng. Cristina Macascas, MAT (NPRE Vice President) sa Boracay, Aklan upang magsagawa ng inisyal na dokumentasyon sa wika at kultura ng mga Boracay Ati. Ang naturang inisyatibo ay may pahintulot mula sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) at sa Tribal Chieftain at elders ng Boracay Ati Tribal Organization (BATO).

 

Ang pananaliksik ay pinondohan ng Lumina Foundation for Integral Human Development. Nagbigay naman ng donasyon ang Network of Professional Researchers and Educators sa Ati Village upang matulungan sila sa mga suliranin nila sa kanilang ancestral domain.

 

Layon ng mga mananaliksik na tumugon sa hamon ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino na idokumento ang mga nanganganib na wika at kultura ng mga katutubong mamamayan. 

Ang papel pananaliksik ni del Castillo, del Castillo, at Macascas na “Boracay Ináti: Mga Tinig Mula sa Laylayan ng Pangakong Paraiso” ay babasahin sa 2nd International Conference on Language Endangerment na gaganapin sa Philippine Normal University sa ika 9–11 ng Oktubre 2024.

Kampeon ng Wika 2024 

Ang Kampeon ng Wika ay mataas na pagkilala sa mga indibidwal na nag-ambag sa pagpapaunlad at pagtataguyod ng Filipino at mga wika ng Pilipinas. Hinirang po na Kampeon ng Wika para sa taong 2024 ang  direktor ng “Lirip 8: Pangdaigdigang Kumperensiya sa Filipino,” Pangalawang Pangulo ng Network of Professional Researchers and Educators, Inc. (NPRE), at awtor ng “Gamhanan: Introduksiyon sa Wika (2024, Rex), Cristina D. Macascas, MAT! 

Si Associate Professor Cristina D. Macascas ay nagtuturo sa Philippine Normal University (PNU). Siya ay awtor, tagasalin, mananaliksik at ispiker sa mga seminar-worksyap at konggreso. Siya ang proponent at direktor ng LIRIP: Pambansang Kumperensiya sa Filipino. Siya ay Kinatawan ng Laguna sa Bigkis at Alyansa ng mga Nagtataguyod sa Wikang Filipino, Regional Director ng Sagip-Wika.   Nagtamo na rin siya ng iba’t ibang parangal kabilang ang Outstanding Teacher of the Year, Serviam Award, Ambasador ng Wika at Kultura, at Outstanding Educator in Filipino. Iginawad din sa kaniya ang pinakamataas na parangal sa Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas, ang Gawad Sulo. Isa rin si Prop. Macascas sa pinarangalan na Ulirang Guro ng 2022 ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.

Noong Hulyo 26-28, 2024 ay matagumpay na naisakatuparan ng Lumina Foundation for Integral Human Development, Network of Professional Researchers and Educators, at mga Sentro ng Wika at Kultura ng Catanduanes State University, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Bicol University, Sorsogon State University, Camarines Norte State College, at University of Southern Mindanao ang LIRIP 8: Pandaigdigang Kumperensiya sa Filipino na may temang: “𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤: 𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖 𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙖 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙥.” Layunin ng Lirip 8 na mapagtagpo ang mga guro, manunulat, tagaplanong pangwika, at iskolar ng iba’t ibang larang upang magbahaginan at magtamo ng bagong kaalaman sa lalong ikasusulong ng Filipino, edukasyon at lipunan. 

Sa plenaryo, tinalakay ni Dr. Gregory Ching (gamit ang Zoom) ang paksang, “Embracing Future Thinking with Classroom Action Researches.” Ibinahagi naman ni Engr. Abdon Balde, Jr. ang “Ika-21 Siglong Panitikan sa Pilipinas.” Si Dr. Jovert R. Balunsay ay dinalumat ang “Filipino sa Global na Aspekto”. Nagbigay din ng mensahe ng pagsuporta ang Pangulo ng Bicol University na si Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III sa Pambungad na Programa ng LIRIP 8.

Luminary Excellence in Education and Research Awards 2024

On May 25, 2024, the Molave Room at Dusit Thani Manila was abuzz with excitement as it hosted the 4th Luminary Excellence in Education and Research Awards (LEERA). The awarding ceremony was hybrid, featuring both in-person and online recipients. LEERA celebrates individual achievements and highlights the critical importance of continuous learning, innovation, and service to society.

 

The evening commenced with a prayer led by Mr. Leonardo Quimson Jr., a distinguished recipient of the Gawad San Lorenzo Ruiz and Dangal ng UST awards. In his opening remarks, Mr. Clarence del Castillo, MBA, President of LFIHD, congratulated the honorees and emphasized the imperative nature of inspiring colleagues to strive for excellence, given the current challenges facing Philippine education and research productivity. Dr. Bernardo Sepeda, Executive Director of the National Research Council of the Philippines, delivered a heartfelt congratulatory message to the fellows. Prof. Cristina Macascas, Ulirang Guro 2022 awardee from the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino, also delivered an inspiring message.

 

Mr. Walter Daniel Delos Reyes hosted the ceremony, and Ms. Faye Lugay serenaded the honorees. The recipients received medals and certificates, while the Luminary Awardees received plaques. The Lumina Foundation also acknowledged the immense impact of its close collaborator, the Association of Filipino Teachers and Educators in America, Inc. (AFTEA), with a Plaque of Recognition for Partnership and Collaboration. The event concluded with a prayer led by Dr. Victoria Rojas.

Luminary International Research Congress 2024

in partnership with Network of Professional Researchers and Educators (Philippines), Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan), and Universitas Al Asyariah (Indonesia). 

The Lumina Foundation for Integral Human Development and the Network of Professional Researchers and Educators invited researchers and educators worldwide to participate in the Luminary International Research Congress held from February 1st to 3rd, 2024, at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei, Taiwan.

The event provided a significant platform for scholars and educators to exchange ideas, present their research findings, and engage in discussions aimed at advancing education and human development globally.

Participants had the opportunity to contribute to the academic discourse by submitting their research papers for consideration in the Special Issue of the International Journal of Research Studies in Education (ISSN 2243-7703, Online ISSN: 2243-7711). 

The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants for their contributions to the congress's success, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in driving positive change in education and human development.

Research workshops on Traditional Knowledge

"Oral Histories and Lived Religious Traditions in response to climate change"

The Lumina Foundation for Integral Human Development, in collaboration with the Network of Professional Researchers and Educators, and with the generous support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, St. Louis University Baguio, the University of Southern Mindanao, De La Salle University Southeast Asia Research Center and Hub (DLSU-SEARCH) and in cooperation with the Indigenous Peoples of Panay and Mindanao, initiated a comprehensive series of research workshops focusing on the vital themes of oral tradition and lived religion as they intersect with the urgent issue of climate change. 

The research workshops took place on the following dates and locations: July 13-14, 2023, at St. Louis University in Baguio City (Luzon); August 10, 2023, in Boracay (Visayas); and September 28-29, 2023, at the University of Southern Mindanao in Cotabato (Mindanao).

Noong Setyembre 28-30, 2023 ay matagumpay na naisagawa ng NPRE ang Ika-7 Lirip sa University of Southern Mindanao, Kabacan, Cotabato. Ang pandaigdigang kumperensiya sa Filipino ay naisakatuparan sa pagtutulungan ng Lumina Foundation for Integral Human Development, De La Salle University - Southeast Asia Research Center and Hub (DLSU-SEARCH), Sentro ng Wika at Kultura ng Sorsogon State University at ng University of Southern Mindanao, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, at Consortia Academia. 

Mainit and naging pagtanggap ng University of Southern Mindanao, sa pangunguna ng butihing Presidente ng USM, Dr. Francisc Gil Garcia, at Dr. Radji Macatabon, Direktor ng SWK ng USM sa mga delegado ng Lirip 7. 

Nagkaroon din ng pagkakataon na makilala nang lubusan ng mga tao ang adhikain ng Lirip sa pamamagitan ng isang interbyu sa radyong DXVL-FM KOOL 105.6 sa tulong ni Mr. Brex Nicolas. Nagkaroon din ng MoU signing sa pagitan ng NPRE at USM sa pangunguna ni Dr Fides del Castillo (NPRE President) at Prop. Cristina Macascas (NPRE Vice President at Direktor ng Lirip 1-7) upang mas mapalawig pa ang mga gawaing pangpananaliksik ng samahan at ng institusyon.
